The Role of the SENCO
-
The day-to-day responsibility for the operation of the SEN policy.

Co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN, including pupils who have EHC plans.

Provide professional guidance to colleagues to ensure pupils with SEN receive high quality teaching.

Working closely with staff, parents and other agencies (for example HYM, speech and language and educational psychology) to secure appropriate support and positive outcomes for pupils with SEN.

Advise on / support with transition to and from the BLC
-
Complete EHC needs assessments and hold annual reviews.

Determine the strategic development of SEN policy and provision in the school.
