‘ We believe in a learning community where everyone feels valued, included and achieves.’

Some of our heights lane students took part in a series of BMX skills sessions which concluded today. The students were invited to take park in a Greater Manchester school sport event, organised by access sport at Platt fields park! Wayne came 3rd overall after two speedy and confident rounds! (He won a 3rd BMX champion medal) Bradley didn't place but won his first round and lost his second. Goncalo didn't place but came first and then lost. Staff round, we thought Jonathon would be our best bet, as he was ever so confident, but he got beat both rounds - although the other teacher was like a gladiator so we will let him off! Overall the BLC BMX team came 2nd out of all school classes and all received a medal! Throughout the duration of the sessions we have seen a significant improvement in social skills outside of the classroom environment. They have been engaged, focused and respectful throughout all the sessions and we are very proud of them all! The students were conversing with the other pupils from various schools across the North West and showed great sportsmanship to each other and pupils from other schools. Overall it has been a great success and we have developed solid relationships with Access Sports and look forward to collaborating with them in the future! We would like to say a huge thank you to Rob at Access Sports for his expert guidance and advice! #raisingrochdale ... See MoreSee Less

Some of the moonbeams class enjoyed a woodwork session with Chris last week. The children displayed great resilience and practiced using different tools in order to create their bug hotels, what a great job they have done! 🐛🐜 #raisingrochdale ... See MoreSee Less

Martin Brower UK Heywood are really helping to motivate and champion our children. We were overwhelmed when they arrived with lots of drinks and treats for the children. Imagine our shock when they then produced £500. This will go towards a new football kit and much, much more. Thank you sooooo much Martin Brower, you don’t know how much this means to us! #raisingrochdale ... See MoreSee Less
